Jan Sallum Jewelry Artist
Part Cherokee and a life-long crafter, Jan Sallum was born in Oklahoma, went to college in Texas, and as a young adult lived, worked and traveled in the Southwest. Her love of Native culture is often seen in her use of color and design. As a young woman, Jan spent years living, working and traveling in North Africa and the Middle East, hence the frequent images of Islamic art and calligraphy in her decoupage bracelets.
Since the early 70’s, Jan has lived in Cambridge with her husband George, where they raised two sons and are now proud and doting grandparents of two. She is a retired educator and for the last several years has indulged in her current passion of jewelry design and creation.
